Wealth Drawing Client Work

Last week I offered my special clients the opportunity for a candle to be lit for them and prayers to be send on the Taurus Full Moon. From time to time I offering clients free spellwork for various things as a thank you for there trust and support.

I have many repeat clients. Some clients I have been working with on and off for years. So my Spirit Guides often want to include these clients in special ceremonies to help boost their energy in a certain area.

I crafted special votive candles for this ceremony. Hand-pouring wax while saying prayers and affirmations for wealth, money and success. Each candle is made with oils and herbs poured into the wax itself and, of course, adorned on top with more herbs, glitter and symbols of wealth.

The altar was set with fragrant season herbs and plant parts as well as coins and money from around the world and money drawing powders. It was quite beautiful!

This spell involved prayers and petitions to Goddesses of Prosperity. As can be seen a pomegranate was offered as a symbol of beauty and bounty.

I enjoy working for my clients and may this energy carry them along the paths to financial stability and freedom. Ashe!

Today I am feeling much like Yoda. Unfortunately not the awesomely enlightened-beyond-enlightenment Yoda. And also not the I-will-kick-your-butt-Jedi-style Yoda either.

No, today I am feeling like the Yoda who speaks in riddles and backward rhymes...and I have no idea what I am saying.

Last night was spent doing a sleep study which was prescribed by a new doctor that I only saw yesterday and lo-and-behold they had an opening last night for the sleep study. Now usually I am quite like my mother, I need to prepare mentally for these kinds of things. And by prepare I mean make the appointment in advance and then complain and worry needlessly up until that day.

But I had no time to "prepare" as my day yesterday was thrown way off schedule having spent way too much time in the doctor's office (how dare he actually listen to what I say and spend a significant time with me explaining things and laughing at my jokes!). Then of course when I finally got home I had to divide my time between work (client work, computer work, phone readings) and the verdict watch on HLN and then, like many, mourn the loss of Michael Jackson once again.

So finally I arrive at the hospital and they set me up in the snazzy sleep center (which is really nice if you every need a sleep study I highly recommend the accommodations at Northern Dutchess Hospital). I decided not to scare the staff with my usually witchy accoutrements and packed lite.

Needless to say I didn't get much sleep. Have you seen the get-up they put you in? There were at least one million wires (seriously, i lost count). Wires on your legs, wires on your head, wires on your neck, wires on your face. Ridiculous! I think the man who invented this get-up is the same man who invented that impossible little cup they like to make you pee in.

I took a photo of myself but decided it was for family only. Yikes!

So to get back to the topic of this post....well I am exhausted. More than usual. I got up and outta there by 6:30am. I came home and have a gazillion house-witchy and house-wifey things to do but all I want to do is take a nap on ye olde couch.

I think the breadth of my actual work today will be very small. I have spent too many mintues trying to spell the word mintues and I am still not getting it right. So onward and squigglyward.

But really the purpose of this ramble is to share my weekend. We had a great time this weekend during our annual Temple trip to the botanica in the Bronx, Original Products, and the Mother Mary shrine at St. Lucy's Church. As always the grotto and gardens are a lovely place. We lit candles in the prayer area, purchased a few trinkets at the church gift shop, collected water, and meandered through the garden. It's a little slice of Heaven right in the middle of the Bronx.

The grotto is a replica of the Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto in Lourdes, France. The water is reported to have healing powers. And it is quite tasty too.

Behind the grotto is what I call the Saint's Garden.

It features a Scala Sancta (of which my photo did not come out) and a walkway exploring the Stations of the Cross.

Little alcoves house Saint statues and there is this huge and beautiful crucifix.

So yes, Virgina, pagans do visit Christian holy sites. Personally I have nothing against the Christian God. And Jesus is a child of Goddess and I would never deny any of her children. Mother Mary has a very special place in my heart. I learned about her from the Nun's in Sunday School and from my grandmother. She is Mother because she is mother to us all.

Our Temple honors all the paths to Goddess. No matter how much they have been trampled upon. We tend to her path, de-weed, take away the debris, plant healing herbs and flowers, gather her bounty for nourishment, replace what we have taken and more, meditate and keep silence to hear her wisdom and message, and shed light on the path for others to find. It's a wonderful job to be her Priestess.

My awesome Temple Sister Luna and I. It was a chilly brisk day but that is the best kind of day for visiting with the Spirits.

I have a few active students right now. Most are long distance but I have a couple that are local.

Today I had a student at Pumpkin Cottage and we talked about a lot of hoodoo-y and witchcraft-y stuff. I also had some client work to prepare so I used the opportunity to show my student some of the tricks of my trade.

Here was the setup in the kitchen for the day.

A double-action candle for reversing bad love juju.
A skull candle to get into the head of someone and change their mind.
A All Powerful Hand candle dressed and fixed for a court case client.

So lots of candle work today. I love my job. I am fortunate to be able to do what I love, help people, share and teach people, and learn lots myself along with way!

Now...it's family time (after doing a client reading too). My wife is home from work.

This weekend was spent marveling at the sudden snow storm that hit the East Coast. Luckily we did not loose power, however family on the other side of the Hudson River are still without power.

I decided to take advantage of the weather (being since I can't do the much needed yard work and clean-up before the real winter kicks in) and the spirit-imposed downtime (tending to my personal spiritual practices) to make some candles and try out a few new candle-making techniques.

I have a few novena spell candles to make for clients and customers. I am now hand-pouring almost all of the spell candles I use. My goal is to have molds available for all the candles I use by the end of the year.

So here is the weekend candle-making in pics:

Melting wax as I chop and chip away at the ginormous block of wax.

There are always money drawing and prosperity candles needed by clients and customers. Making the candles myself allows me to charge the candle with prayers while pouring. I also add the appropriate oils and plant and flower bits to the wax itself.

I try to contain the mess as much as possible. I love making candles!

Skull candle done. And also a most lovely La Santisima Muerte candle. Each is carefully scented with essential oils. The skull candle has some herbs and glitter added to it. La Santisima will get embellished a bit later. Both candles are appropriate for this time of year, dontcha think?

Like I said I am trying a few new techniques...as well as some new candle wax materials and blends. Trial and error makes for the best outcome.

cookie recipe

I guess the cookies made a few mouths water so here is the recipe. I can't claim it. I got it from my big Mrs. Field's Cookie book. The recipe is for making them into crescent shapes, which I do sometimes but usually am too lazy. Rolling them into balls is much faster.

Snowy White Chocolate Crescents

1½ cups all-purpose flour
⅓ cup cocoa powder, unsweetened
1 stick (½ cup) salted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 large egg
½ cup confectioners’sugar

* Preheat oven to 325°
* In a small bowl, combine flour and cocoa. Mix well with a wire whisk and set aside.
* In a medium bowl, cream butter ans sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed. Add vanilla and egg, and beat until light and smooth. Scrape down sides of bowl, then add flour and cocoa mixture. Blend on low speed until fully incorporated. The dough with be dry and crumbly.
* Shape a level tablespoon of dough into a 3½-inch log. Slightly bend the log to form a crescent shape. Form remaining dough into crescents, and place on ungreased baking sheets, 1 inch apart. Bake 15 to 17 minutes or until the outside of cookie is hard but the center remains soft.
* Cool on pan for 2 to 3 minutes, then transfer to a flat surface to cool a few minutes more. While still warm, roll the cookies in confectioners’ sugar until coated.

My variations over the years:

rolling them into balls instead of crescents
making them with spelt flour (half white spelt/half whole spelt)
making them with sucanat or agave
using only 1/2 cup of sugar/sucanat
using almond extract instead of vanilla extract (and adding a bit more to make them almondy yummy)
adding a dash of cinnamon to the recipe
using a scant 1/4 of apple sauce instead of the egg

Also, I think letting them cool 2-3 minutes before rolling in the powdered sugar is too long. They need to be warm (but not hot) for the powdered sugar to stick well.

You've heard the saying that the moon is made of cheese? Well, I beg to differ. I think the moon is made of chocolate...deep delicious warm chocolate covered in powdered sugar.

These are my full moon cookies for tonight's ritual. I figured it was close enough to the full moon to make 'em. Besides, who needs an excuse to eat chocolate?

I have been really busy lately with client work as well as doing my own spiritual work to further enhance my personal spiritual path. So, I haven't had much time to but a blog post together and figured I would do a quick update with photos of recent client work.

Here goes...
5/22/10 - The working altar with all kinds of client work going. The two glowing candles on each side are skull candles for separate client cases. A few novena candles set for various purposes, mojos charging, etc.

A Custom Conjured All-Powerful Mojo Bag created for an extra special client.

One of the newly created original candle label designs now available at Pumpkin Cottage Conjure. This Steady Work Cottage Candle has been dressed and blessed and is being set for the special client mentioned above.

Sometimes a binding spell is in order. This is the beginnings of a binding spell to stop a nasty person from doing more harm. Putting them in dirty murky water, then freezing until the next step.

First real harvest of herbs (and a couple of gerbera daisies for the altars). Here we see basil, purpose sage, rosemary, sweet woodruff, italian parsley and lemon verbana. If only computers came with smell-o-vision!

Her Sacred Fires - A Rite for Hekate

On May 27th hundreds of people around the world participated in a worldwide honoring of Hekate. The Rite was created by Author and Hekate Priestess Sorita d'Este.

I was one that joined in on this amazing worldwide ritual. I incorporated this ritual as part of my 13 Moon Dedication to Hekate. Hekate has been calling me for a few years. I find her to be very patient with me as I felt my way around the proper ways to honor her in my personal spiritual path. It seems that Hekate also wants to have a place in the Scarlet & Amethyst Temple and Tradition and I am honoring her wish.

Spring Renewal

Last weekend a few Goddess sisters came to Pumpkin Cottage for a Spring Release and Renew Ceremony. The ceremony was to help us release those things which no longer serve us and to replace those things with wonderful new manifestations.

The ceremony was in honor of Yemaya, the Scarlet & Amethyst Temple Mother Goddess. I honored each sister with a cleansing hand and foot wash.

We banished those things we did not want in our lives anymore and we dressed a candle to bring the blessings of our New Moon wishes.

I created these candles for the ritual and each sister went home with their own candle to burn on their altars.

I finished the ceremony the next day by taking the offering we made for Yemaya to the river for Oshun to take to the ocean.

It was a wonderful ceremony full of love and healing.

I am creating a learning circle for local women who are interested in doing ritual on a regular basis and who also want to learn more about the Scarlet & Amethyst Temple and Tradition. The learning circle is called Spirit Sisters and will be a Goddess-centered ritual group that creates and manifests sisterhood and magick.

Dollar store altars!

Today I went to Dollar General to pick up some miscellaneous necessities. I know I am not the only one who goes into these dollar stores and comes out with things you didn't know you needed.

I found myself standing in the aisle with the artificial flowers...just staring at them...not knowing why. Finally after a few minutes of being dumbfounded I grabbed two bunches of fake flowers and went on my way.

When I got home I realized what the flowers were for. Santisima Muerte and Yemaya both wanted some beautification done to their altars. And since I am good little Spirit server...

Yesterday I set these candles for clients. One (left) for money. On (right) for love. The candles are burning bright and strong which is a good sign.

Today I am tending to (in other words cleaning) altars. My working altar, dedicated to my Ancestral Spirit, Mama Da, gets especially messy. I use this altar daily...burning candles, burning incense, setting lights for clients, conjurin' mojos, crafting spells. So, yeah, it gets dusty and messy easily.

The altar is always adorned with a white altar cloth. White altar cloths demand sacrifices of loose herbs and incense, dripping candle wax, and sometimes they really love to be singed.

I decided, since I am breaking out ye olde sewing machine to create some new items for The Moonlit Sea (and Pumpkin Cottage Conjure), to make a quickie new white altar cloth.

This is a 3 week online class series that will help you connect with your inner spiritual path and deepen your relationship with Goddess. We will discover that a connection with Spirit can not truly be found in a book or from the experiences of others. As women we have a unique natural connection to the Feminine Divine, all we need to do is plug into it.

In this class series we will learn about Goddesses from around the world and explore daily practices, altar and ceremony creation. Most importantly we will learn how to create a personal spiritual path to Goddess.

I, Oseaana Inara December, will be facilitating this class series. I am a priestess and witch of 20 years. I am also is the Temple Mother and Founder of the Scarlet & Amethyst Temple and Tradition. I will share with you the tools and wisdom that was shared with me and allowed me to create my own spiritual path and personal relationship with Goddess.

If you are a beginner or a seasoned priestess, you will learn something new and personal from this Introduction to Goddess Spirituality class.

This class is not an introductory to Wicca or any other established religion
or spiritual path out there. This is a personal journey for each woman.

The series of 3 classes will involve voice chat, text chat, presentations and video. If you have a microphone or headset you can join in the conversation and/or ask questions via the chat feature. A dial-in number will also be provided for women who need to participate using a telephone.

We will be using an easy and user-friendly online meeting room, there is nothing you need to download or install to attend the classes. All you need are speakers and the ability to watch video (video card).

In this class we will talk about the ethics of love spells. What can go wrong and what can go right. I will share with you some of my experiences in helping clients with their love dilemmas.

Limited Services Update

Just a quick note to let everyone know I will be lightening my client readings, spell/conjure work between July 22nd and July 31st for a personal spiritual cleanse.

I will be available for an emergency or urgent cause, just call or email or contact me on Twitter or Facebook. Current clients, of course, will have access to me for updates, feedback, etc.

However, you can still place orders for products and book services for after the 31st. From July 31st to August 5th I will be slowly getting back into client services, so I will be available during that time but on a limited basis.

3-Day Spiritual Assessments

If you have been a client of mine, you probably have noticed that I do my best work while alone, communing with my Spirit Guides, dreaming and mediating.

There are many readers out there that do reading after reading...many in one day. I am not that type of reader. I limit myself to how many clients I can connect with in one day and often times in one week.

I prefer to devote my time to my clients on an individual basis. Sometimes, if I am working with a client's situation that requires a lot of my time and energy I may not take on any other work until I feel I can fairly handle both.

This isn't because I am not able to multi-task or work on many projects at once. Actually it is quite the contrary. I am an awesome multi-tasker and can focus on many things at one time even if they are things that have nothing in common. In my mundane life at work, that is part of my job.

It is a choice to work my spiritual life differently...to choose how I expend my energy.

Therefore, I am now offering clients a 3-Day Spiritual Assessment. A 3-Day Spiritual Assessment is basically a ceremony devoted to you and your situation for 3 hours each day for 3 days. During this time you will receive my undivided attention to your situation. This allows me to sit in sacred space with my Spirit Guides creating change just for you. I do spellwork, I meditate, I divine and get guidance, insight and answers to your questions or concerns. I am doing a ceremony for 3 days for your specific and individual concern.

3-Day Spiritual Assessments aren't for every person nor for every case. This ceremony is helpful for those that are feeling lost or stuck in an ongoing situation. 3-Day Spiritual Assessments are a powerful and indepth way for me to work on your situation.

3-Day Spiritual Assessments are started with a 15 minute phone consultation and email communication. We then decide on a date to start your assessment. While I am working on your ceremony, I will communicate with you via email if anything comes up that needs our immediate attention. When the 3-Day Spiritual Assessment is finished I compile all my notes and information and send you a detailed email report within a couple of days. We then connect on the phone again for a 15 minute appointment to follow-up.

Winter News from The Moonlit Sea...

The winter season here in upstate New York has been mild. Just this past week we had our first real snowfall and it didn't amount to much. Still it was wonderful to see the earth and trees covered in winter. I had the pleasure of being able to go outside and be in the stillness of the snowfall. Looking up at the clear dark sky and seeing the stars...living away from the glare of city lights has been wonderful.

I decided to send out an issue of the newsletter with some information on wintertime magick and the uses of snow. Also, I included a few tidbits going into spring as Imbolc has just passed and the weather will once again be changing.

I hope everyone had a wonderful and prosperous holiday season! I know you all are wondering when the shop will be re-launched. The truth is I am in no hurry to re-launch it right now. I do have a lot in the cauldron brewing...in time I will be re-launching a brand new site with interesting and unique products.

In the meantime enjoy the season and this issue of the newsletter. Also feel free to drop me a note and let me know what types of items/products/services you are interested in seeing at TheMoonlitSea. net.

My new (old) home!!

Well, we are finally moved into our new house. The house buying process has been long and the unpacking is just beginning, but things are great and we love our new little house!

If someone had told me a few years ago that I would be moving back east and buying a house I would have laughed like crazy. But crazy things happen. I am loving being back in my old neck of the woods. Actually, I am glad to be back in the woods. Seeing stars at night is pleasure.

I have meet some interesting Witchy folks here and have a few new ventures that are in the works. As for the online store getting back online...that is a few months off. Everything is still in boxes and we are unpacking slowly. The physical space is still in the works and I think that is what is keeping me from getting too much into anything right now. I want to let it flow and see what comes of it.

I plan to keep updating this blog more often with spells, magickal tips and other Witchy info now that I am back online an d in my own space.

a quick update...

I hope everyone is enjoying the last few days of summer. It is certainly feeling like fall here in upstate New York. Today it is raining (yeah! I haven't seen that in a few years) and the leaves are showing signs of change.

Well, we aren't settled into our new place yet. We are still in the process of finding a new home. The re-opening of The Moonlit Sea shop may be a put off a few more weeks but I am hoping to get things going again in Nov or Dec. Keep up-to-date here.

I am still available via email and Yahoo Instant Messanger. My days are spent enjoying being close to family, driving through the country and waiting for my favorite time of year, Halloween!

The Mighty Misses Sip

I am on the other side of the Mississippi River. It took 3 long...very long days but crossing back into the other side of the country was grand.

There were a lot of interesting sites along the way...salt flats, lots of casinos, white sands, mirages, "white power" graffiti, the biggest orange-ist moon I have ever seen (or maybe because I have been in the city for so many years I forgot how big the moon really gets), lots of truckers with "show me your boobs" written in the dirt and dust of their trucks...just so much to see.

Anywhoo...we made a pit stop in Illinios to visit family then will be heading to our new home in New York in the next couple of days. I am so excited to setup everything and get settled!

On the move...

Well, the movers come tomorrow to get everything into the truck for the long haul across the country.

I won't be checking email often and probably won't have my computer and internet access back until the 20th or so.

Falling leaves on my mind...

So recently I have hinted to a few changes coming. One of the biggest changes is I am moving back east! I am moving back to the upstate New York area just in time for my favorite time of years...Fall (hence the beautiful leaves!).

My recent trip to the redwoods, river and ocean gave me time to put into perspective what steps I wanted to take next. The Bay Area has been my place of residence for over 4 years yet has never really felt like home.

The east coast is calling me home. So in the next few weeks I will be making the journey cross country (again!). In the meantime I will not be processing orders on The Moonlit Sea website or doing any services through The Town Witch website.

Once I get settled in my new home I will be re-designing the web sites and adding new products. I will also be talking more about what I have brewing for a new physical location! Don't forget to watch the website and this blog for updates.

back from the woods...

Well I am back, refreshed and ready to make some changes around the online shop.

The camping trip was fabulous. I was able to spend time at the ocean (saw amazing stuff at the tide pools along The Lost Coast) and at the river. The magick of being deep in the redwoods was beyond words. I have been to the redwoods before but never was able to experience them like this.

For me the trip was about re-newing and re-charging. It also gave me lots to think about what I want to do with the shop and what I want in a physical location.

So things are in the works for a total re-vamp of the online shop and the beginnings of a physical location.

More on that later!

Redwoods, Ocean, River

I am heading out of town to sit under the Redwoods and cleanse in the Ocean and River. A much needed vaction/retreat. I have some rituals planned for this weekend and lots of time connecting with Mama Ocean and Mama River.

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July.

I will return refreshed and renewed next Monday!

A Spiritual Bath to Remove Negative Energy

Clean your body in the tub or shower before taking your spiritual bath. After you have taken your bath or shower clean the tub to prepare for the spiritual bath.

Put mint, rue, fennel and angelica and a pinch of black pepper into a tea strainer or muslin bag and place the bag into a clean heat safe glass bowl.

There is power in words. Manifestation starts with thought then words then action. I have been thinking about who I am and who I have become. I have lived a life of ups and downs, goods and bads, joys and disappointments. I have journeyed down many paths and have had the good fortune of meeting some amazing people. I have learned a lot from my experiences...both the good and the bad.

In my recent herstory I have had a spiritual awakening of sorts. My eyes have been opened to situations that I had foolishly thought didn't exist in the circles I choose to participate. In my personal, spiritual, and career life I have always made decisions based on the experience...not necessarily on the outcome. I crave experience

Being fulfilled is essential...so still I searched high and low for a community of spiritual sisters. My spiritual life has felt full and empty at times. Last year I made the decision to look at my life and the situations I had put myself in and I asked is this where I want to be? Are these the people I want in my life? Is this a true connection with The Great Mother? Is there more? Was there something more? Does magick exist?
